All this gorgeous weather in Austin, TX has me in search of the perfect outdoor patios to sit outside and enjoy brunch, lunch, dinner, margaritas, mojitos, wine, you name it….ahhh, talk about livin’ the good life!  So I thought I’d share my thoughts on the best patios in different Areas of Austin to enjoy this gorgeous spring weather.

North Austin

1.        NoRTH at the Domain is a favorite of mine.  You can people watch as the shoppers pass by and enjoy the beautiful water fountain and sculptures next to the restaurant.

Central Austin

There are just too many great places in downtown Austin so I had to name three!

2.        Perla’s is always a great place to hang for a drink and watch the action on South Congress (also known as SOCO).  They’ve got incredible seafood too if you’re hungry.

3.        Hotel San Jose has the most amazing ambiance with bamboo shoots surrounding the pool & patio and the best white wine sangria with fresh fruit you’ve ever had!

4.        If you music is your thing then Unplugged at the Grove is the place to be.  You’ll find this cool venue at Shady Grove on Barton Springs.  It’s a great way to hear some free live music and sip a Dos Equis, Austin-style.

West Austin

5.        The Grove Wine Bar at the corner of Bee Caves Rd. and Hwy 360 is a great place to sit under the Oak trees and sip on a crisp glass of Pinot Grigio.

6.        If you live out in the Bee Cave/Lakeway area, Mizu has a gorgeous patio with views of the hill country and rockin’ Mizu blood-orange margaritas.

On the Water

7.        Hula Hut is an Austin staple and has the best frozen, swirled margaritas in town.  The views of the lake are incredible and there’s even a place to dock your boat if you’d like.

South Austin

8.        South Lamar (or known as SOLA) is a great part of town to check out the local hipster scene.  For a great patio in this part of town that has fantastic views, washers, and a Texas Tornado (Tito’s Vodka, Paula’s Texas Lemon & fresh mint, mixed w/ a splash of soda) try Red’s Porch.

East Austin

9.        You’ll feel like you’re at the beach with the sandy hang-out area and beach umbrellas at Takoba on the east side.  The Michelada El Cunado will knock your socks off.

10.     Vivo’s will make you feel like you’re in an Oasis with beautiful plants surrounding you as you refresh yourself with a Hibiscus Margarita.  They’ll even give the ladies a rose just for being a woman J

All this talk about patios has made me want to get outside and enjoy a margarita myself so I’m headed to a neighborhood favorite of mine—Iron Cactus at the Hill Country Galleria.

So what are you waiting for?  Get out there and enjoy some of the best views, drinks and patios that Austin has to offer!
