Austin is once again ranked as America’s fastest growing city by Forbes.com. Based on metrics such as population growth, job growth, economic growth, etc Austin has outranked every large U.S. Metropolitan area for the 3rd year in a row.
It doesn’t hurt that we have a great university with 51,000 students (UT), portfolio of large growing corporations, strong government capital, and that Austin is just a cool place to live that attracts lots of startups and entrepreneurs.
Austin’s population and job growth grew 3% in 2012 and unemployment is only 4.9%. Compare that to the U.S. unemployment rate of 7.8%! Median salaries in Austin are $63,000
