Based on data from Realtor.com, Austin, Tx was the 23rd most searched market in the country in July 2012. Median list prices for homes in Austin hit $242,500 which is over a 7% increase from one year ago the same month. By comparison the national median list price in July 2012 was $194,900 which is a 2.63% increase year over year.
Overall it appears that nationally we are still a recovery period however there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel as inventory levels continue to decrease and list prices are slowly increasing. Locally here in Austin, home inventories have decreased by 15 percent from 1 year ago.
