The high-tech market of Austin is one of the top in the United States, based on the 2014 report of Jones Lang LaSalle High-technology Office Outlook. To come up with the results, JLL ranked the high-tech markets of metropolitan areas basing on the following factors: growth, wage growth, services concentration, intellectual capital, share of U.S. venture funding capital, market dynamism and innovation.
Austin landed on the fifth spot after gaining a 58.5 weighted score. The city has 65,010 high-tech sector employees and 8.3% wage growth.
San Francisco topped the list, next is Seattle-Bellevue followed by Silicon Valley and then New York.
