According to a recent report by the U.S. Census Bureau, Austin and Travis County are ranked among the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the U.S.
Travis County is ranked as the No. 7 fastest-growing county in the United States, and added over 34,000 residents between July 2011 and July 2012. Harris County and Dallas County ranked as the No. 1 and No. 4 fastest-growing counties, with Harris adding 80,005 residents and Dallas County adding 45,827 residents over the year.
Austin also ranked as No.7 fastest growing metro area in the United States, with a growth rate of 3% from July 2011 to July 2012.
