According to a joint survey from Thumbtack.com and the Kauffman Foundation, Austin is named as the friendliest city for small business owners. Austin earned the top position for the ease of starting a business as well as the ease of hiring and regulations.
Austin also earned a top score for health and safety, talent availability, and ease of tax code. Texas was named as a top state for small businesses overall, with Houston, San Antonio and Dallas-Fort Worth also being prime cities for small business growth.
