Hoping to live in Austin? If you are, the report from the Council for Community and Economic Research cited that it is still cheaper to live in the city despite the high housing costs in the city. According to the report, Austin is currently ranked 47 of the 246 urban areas included in the study in terms of how much each resident spends on important goods and necessities for the first quarters of 2016. The city recorded an index score of 96.7 for the cost of living expenses and other miscellaneous products. In terms of services, it is around 4.3% below the national average. The most expensive place to live in is Manhattan in New York as the prices are around 128.3% above the national average.
