Austin Board of Realtors has announced that home sales in Austin decreased by 3% versus last year’s performance. This is the first decline in home sales since the month of May 2011. However, the average price per unit of Austin homes has increased by 9% compared with 2013. To price on July has gone up to $318,856.
The Austin market for housing is maintaining its high demand. With this, the inventory in housing with 37 days in the market is a challenge to ABOR. Even with the increasing price of Austin homes, the demand is still at a stable rate.
