Austin lands another direct flight destination, this time to an East Coast research hub

an East Coast research hubStarting March 9, 2017, travelers using Austin-Bergstrom International Airport will now be able to fly directly to North Carolina’s Raleigh-Durham International Airport. The CEO of the Raleigh-Durham International Airport Mike Landguth remarked that Austin is the airport’s “largest unserved nonstop market” and has been under negotiations with the Austin airport to open the flight path. He remarks that it is important for the “Research Triangles” growth and open new opportunities for all countries. The flights will be provided by Delta and each flight is scheduled at 8:30 am from RDU and arrive in Austin at 10:30 am while the return flight leaves Austin at 11:15 am, arriving at 3:10 am in RDU.
