According to Ryan Robinson, a demographer, the Austin metro area will have an estimated population of two million by the end of summer 2015! The Austin metro area includes Hays, Travis, Bastrop, Caldwell, and Williamson counties.
Where is this Austin population growth coming from?
- 1/3 of the growth comes from natural increases such as births.
- 2/3 of the growth comes from people moving here (internationally and domestically)
I think everyone has seen this coming because of the fact that 100 to 150 people move into Austin every single day! s current population is close to 1.92 million, and it is not surprising that Austin might catch San Antonio in the next ten years. Austin was also included in the list of the fastest-growing city in the US this 2014.
