The Austin Opera has a new boss and she is none other than Annie Burridge. Burridge replaces Joseph Specter to the position as he moved to the Arizona Opera. She has worked previously for Opera Philadelphia and assisted the Opera to improve their financial position through a variety of programs. She has helped get grants for the opera in January from the Knight Foundation amounting to $2.5 million to support the opera’s $15 million opera festival. She also led several fundraisers to assist the rebranding campaign of the opera. Burridge worked for Opera Philadelphia for nine years before moving to Austin Opera.
