Sharegate, an Austin-based software maker, has raised $1.3 million in financing. Sharegate was founded in 2009 and develops software which is designed to improve “corporate governance and communication within the investment community”. According to the Sharegate website, the company gathers streaming news reports, institutional holdings data from SEC filings, and fundamental data from corporate filings. This data is then used by the company to improve the way shareholders and corporations interact.
The capital came from 14 separate investors, however, it’s unknown how the company will utilize the capital moving forward. The CEO of Sharegate is Argus Cunningham, a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a former pilot for the U.S. Navy.
