The Austin American Statesman has posted an interesting overview of a local startup called Wide Open Spaces. The company launced a website last year that offers limited-time deals on fishing, hunting and outdoor gear. The company also launced a website last month called openseason, which sells similar mechandise at reduced prices with no time-limits.
Wide Open Spaces has downtown offices at Seventh Street and Congress, and is backed by a $1.75 million investment from Mercury Fund, RPM Ventures and Dundee Venture Capital. Their online stores offers over 500 products from over 50 major brands.
The company has seen growth of 20 percent month over month, and expects to raise $5 million in a new round of funding.
