According to studies on business costs, Austin is the second most expensive city to do business in Texas. It was also ranked 51st in real estate costs and measure of wages.
The availability of workers is still a challenge to employers in the Austin area. Issues also arise with the city’s inspection and permitting process, making it difficult for small businesses to have a convenient settlement in the location. This makes them decide to look for opportunities outside of Austin.
IHS Global Insight study gave Austin a composite score of 96.1, which is cheaper than the national average of 100.
