Austin, Texas continues to outpace the Nation in economic recovery according to a report from the Brookings Institution. Compared to 150 of the worlds largest metropolitan economies Austin is the 26th best, and has the highest ranking among all U.S. Metros. From 1993 to 2007 the Austin-Round Rock Metro population grew 68% to 1,763,000. While there is still a ways to go Austin continues to grow and prosper at the levels experienced during the pre-recession era of 1993 to 2007.
