Omaha and Oklahoma City are the only major cities that have unemployment levels below 5%. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Austin, Texas is not far behind with an unemployment rate of 6.4%. Nationwide we are at 8.3% which is 3.6% higher than it was 5 years ago.
