Austin is slowly becoming a good home for small businesses and those who wish to found such businesses according to the assessment of the area’s economic climate for such businesses. In the research of the American City Business Journals, Austin’s number of small businesses has increased in numbers from 2010 to 2013 by 9.7%. However, there are several concerns are now increasing regarding Austin’s status because of the stricter policies now imposed in the city, onset of traffic and the affordability of properties in the region. The onset of these problems are making investors look away from Austin and call for the Austin City Council to focus on the larger picture and leave other details to the private sector.
