According to surveys, Austin recorded more number of startup businesses compared to Boston, Chicago and even Silicon Valley. However, Austin is named as one of cities with few startup funding deals. This data was from the study conducted by Munday School of Business at St. Edwards University.
The study revealed that startups had experienced lesser difficulty in receiving seed money from angel investors, funding firms and politician than getting Series A, Series B and other stages of funding. This problem is said to be caused by inexperienced CEOs, shortage of large investment firms and the city’s lack of funding support.
