A 2nd Westin hotel will be built in Downtown Austin and will be located at the corner of East 5th and San Jacinto Blvd. The 17 story, 366 room hotel will include a retail restaurant, fitness center, and 15k sf of conference room space. Early 2015 is the expected opening date.
The developers, White Lodging, are expecting the new hotel to generate up to 140 full time jobs and $6.3 million in annual taxes to the City of Austin.
The development group are also developing the 34 story, 1,012 room JW Marriott which will be located at the corner of Congress Ave and 2nd St which is expected to open around the same time.
