On Thursday, the Austin City Council has given its “placeholder” approval over the very controversial rezoning program that will be done for the creation of a mix-use development project in Central Austin. The Council had applied several caveats for ARG Bull Creek as it would revise the project’s current status and space involved. According to the developer, the amendments would make the project unviable as a mixed-used development site as it would not accommodate to the facilities the area aims to support. Other groups are against the notion considering the location of the development project. Many City Council leaders have expressed their support over the continuous negotiations regarding the project and hopes to meet a compromise with the developers.
