The demand for outdoor venues decreases as city officials said that they would limit the approval of applications for events. The objective of this move is to ensure public safety and decrease the possibility of large public hazards.
One of the major sponsors that have backed down from South By Southwest events is Doritos. The number of spectators will also decrease throughout the year as a result of this Austin project.
Austin’s events program manager, Bill Manno, said that there is no limit on the number of applications to be accepted but there would be limitations on the officials’ approval.
