A demolition team was deployed recently at 718 W. Fifth Street to make way for the construction of a high-rise condo tower. The site was formerly known as the Texas Press Association headquarters. Executive Director Mike Hodges said that the building has been the home of Texas Press Association for 40 years.
Austin’s Riverside Resources is the new owner of the establishment which will soon be known as Fifth & West. Upon completion, it will be one of the tall buildings surrounding the city having 39 stories. The condo tower is scheduled to finish its construction on the year 2017.
