Plans for a 130,000 square-foot downtown office building were recently approved by Travis County officials. The seven-story building will be located at West 11th and San Antonio streets, and is estimated to cost $38.5 million. The office building will house space for Travis County officials, including offices for the district attorney and other court-related departments.
The construction is estimated to take 3 years, and will be financed by bonds issued by the county. This is Travis County’s first construction downtown construction project since 2000, when the Criminal Justice Center opened three years behind schedule and twice it’s originally proposed cost.
