East Austin – Forbes 7th Hippest Neighborhood in America

Out of 250 U.S. neighborhoods, East Austin is the 7th hippest!  The rankings were based on the walkability of the neighborhood, presence and number of local Austin retail restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and farmers markets, and the artistic occupations in the community.  South Congress (aka SOCO) once dominated Austin as the cool, trendy, eclectic place to live, work, and play.  East Austin is the new king!
