GateHouse Media has announced it will bring 200 jobs to Austin by the end 2014. Based in New York, the media group who runs 431 newspapers and 405 similar websites is looking to lease office space somewhere in the Downtown Austin area. They expect to have up to 60 employees by the end of this year and 90 employees by March 2014.
The company is excited about the prospect of recruiting talent from UT’s journalism school and other creative groups in town.
