Want to know how Austin sees its transportation system in the future?
As part of its entry for the Beyond Traffic: Smart City Challenge, Austin presented its vision in a 32-page entry that details every bit of Austin’s hope for its transportation network. Some of the notable points of the entry included an improvement of infrastructure that would support self-driving cars for both public and private use. The proposal also included the electrification of Austin’s most used transits like buses, taxies and TNCs. Better infrastructure through the assistance of travel access hubs is also in the list, and the creation of a one-pass multi-modal transit application is also proposed. Administration plans for these programs are also included in Austin’s entry.
