Increase Mobility Continues to Reduce Demand for Office Space

The workplace is changing and as office mobile technology continues to evolve office space square footage will continue to decline. According to a survey by Jones Lang LaSalle between 2010 and 2012 office space per employee decreased by as much as 22%.

A mobile workforce is upon us as younger workers are more comfortable with the use of technology and mobile applications.  Over the next 10-15 years expect to see more office spaces designed with unassigned desks and/or desk sharing, as well as mobile technology to decrease the inefficiencies of office space usage that we see today.
