There are many factors on why workspaces are shrinking. Do to mobile workers workspace square footage per employee is shrinking. Other factors are to save money or some companies when into management reconstruction and had to lay off employees, thus creating a need of smaller office space.
Overall electronics has enabled workers to be more and more mobile which means less need for space. Some companies are even having workers share a desk or office……..which is being referred to as hoteling or flexible work stations.
