Austin is now entering the gaming industry as Virtuix Holdings Inc, known for their virtual reality consoles have enough financial backing now that it has moved operations in Austin. The company has managed to make $879,701 worth of investments in their Kickstarter campaign in 2013 alone. The uniqueness of Virtuix’s system – the Omni- Is due to its device’s capacity to track movement by the players and fully bring an interactive experience. It is expected that the Omni would cost up to $699, and while 3,500 units have been bought, deliveries were delayed due to the lack of backing. However, the company has managed to increase their funding by up to $7 million since they launched the company in 2013.
