Last April, Lustre Pearl closed to make way for the mixed used development that was already planned since 2008. The bungalow that was previously occupied by Lustre Pearl bar will be turned into a new restaurant. The new establishment in east Austin is scheduled to open next spring. Rumor has it that Bridget Dunlap, the owner of the Lustre Pearl, will manage the diner.
The property owner, Jesse Lunsford, said that the restaurant would be closed late at night in order to avoid disturbances to the residential neighborhood. To serve more customers, the bungalow will have an additional patio area.
