Where Austin’s Rents are Skyrocketing the Fastest

Based on the recent survey of the Census Bureau, at least fifty percent of the “Austinites” lease homes and apartments. If you are one of these rental tenants, you probably know how your pocket hurts every time you pay your rental fees.

Using the statistics data from ACS, the Census Bureau was able to pinpoint the areas in Austin where rental rates escalate rapidly. The neighborhood near the north side of Circle C Ranch was identified to have the biggest increase on lease rate. In 2010, the rental rate on the tract was $761 and in became $1,604 by 2012.
