Meet an Austin company at the forefront of health care innovation

Austin’s Patient IO won the Innovation of Year Award from a Seton Healthcare Family event “The Future of Care: Healthcare Innovation Awards” on Wednesday. The event honors companies utilizing technology in assisting patients understand their health and their needs. Patient IO introduced a specialized mobile app that would consolidate patient care by allow health care practitioners access the patient’s electronic health care records and population health management. Aside Patient IO, three other companies were cited for their innovations and were given a runner-up award:
– Rallyhood – an online application that would assist in emotional, practical and financial support for patients.
– UnaliWear – waterproof and voice-controlled smart watch that can help monitor vulnerable populations and their health status.
– VSee – makes patient scheduling, payments and queuing easier.
