Michael Dell Buys Out Shareholders in $24.8B Deal

After 9 months of negotiations going back and forth between Dell and Icahn to take Dell, Inc private Michael Dell finally prevails.  The shareholder vote had been postponed 3 times however after investor Carl Icahn withdrew his bid on Monday Michael Dell and his investor group that includes Silver Lake Partners and Microsoft Corporation will own the company.  Collectively they agreed to pay shareholders $13.75 per share.

Dell plans on moving from a PC based company to focus more on mobile devices, enterprise, software, and services.
