For almost a year, Austin mobile retailers have been fighting for their rights. Finally, the City Council has endorsed new rules to help mobile shops in operating within Austin.
Last year, a group of retailers have been pushing changes on the city’s mobile retail rules. Unlike food trailers that can operate easily, mobile shop owners who sell other goods were blocked off by a city code. The business owners insisted that regardless of the products being sold, mobile retails are somehow similar.
According to Sarah Ellison Lewis, the previous city rules caused business difficulties, so she opted for online business.
