New CEO for National Domestic Violence Hotline based in Austin

New_CEOKatie Ray-Jones was named as the new CEO of the Austin based National Domestic Violence Hotline. She will be replacing Dyanne Purcell, who retired in April. Purcell served the hotline for 17 years.

Katie will be retaining her position as the president of the company. The move was done due to a massive increase in calls because of the Ray Rice video. It captured the NFL player hitting his wife in an elevator.

As per the hotline’s spokesperson, Lisa Lawrence, they have a total of 84% increase in incoming calls.

Katie Ray-Jones has the experience in serving survivors and victims of domestic violence.
