New nonstop flight connects Austin to Mexico’s second-biggest city

Hoping to visit Guadalajara, Mexico from Austin? That is now plausible starting August 7 as Mexican budget airline will be adding three nonstop flights per week from Austin’s international airport to Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla Guadalajara International Airport. According to the announcement, the flights will be using an Airbus A320 and would leave ABIA on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 1:20 pm and arrive in Guadalajara at 3:30 pm. According to Mexican consul general Carlos Gonzales Gutierrez, the flight would connect two of the fastest growing startup and technology hubs in the region.

Volaris also has flights in Dallas, San Antonio and Houston.
