Facebook’s headquarters can be likened to a small urban community. It is designed so that interactions and freedom of expression is encouraged.
The old structures from the previous office park were torn down to make way for more open and interactive work areas. Skylights and huge windows allow for natural lighting and walls available for employees’ personal art are abundant. Treadmill workstations are also available throughout the headquarters to encourage employees to be more active.
In addition, the availability of various cafes, food shops and microkitchens also encourages collaboration among employees even when they are not officially at their desks.
