50 acres of land owned by Eanes ISD located West of the Pennybacker Bridge is about to become a youth sports complex. The complex which will consist of 12 sports fields, tennis facilities, gymnasium, playscapes, parking spaces, and other facilities is estimated to cost up to $10 million.
There has been a lot of opposition to this project from Emma Long Park LLC, Westlake Neighborhood Alliance, Heath Schiesser who is CEO of MedSpring, and other neighbors who are worried about potential traffic issues, light and environmental pollution, etc..
