PRODUCTIVITY IN OPEN-CONCEPT WORKSPACES

Balancing private space with common shared space is one of the key thoughts that emerged from the DC talk. Dennis Gaffney said that open space offices encourage connectivity. Architects’ designs are focused on defining individual functions in their open floor workspace plan.

Angie Lee agrees that an open-plan workspace does not work for everyone. This is the reason why the planning strategy should also include how employees travel through an open floor workspace plan and how they come in and out of the open workspace. They understand that it is really uncomfortable having somebody come in behind you when working.
