The TomTom Traffic Index 2016 indicates that Austin ranks 21 of all the country’s cities with the most-traffic jams. The report cited Los Angeles as the number 1 most congested city in the country and for Texas, Houston has the worst scenario as it is under rank 11. Based on the assessments done in Austin, the public said that traffic is the number 1 problem in the city and it is the growing suburban sprawl that is a reason for this problem. Despite its ranking as one of the cities with highest traffic jams, Austin ranking actually improved as it was previously at Number 13 in 2015.
