Attention Austin businesses: The Austin Business Journal is co-coordinating a social media marketing tournament in which companies will compete based off of their online presence. This tournament style competition will place companies from 43 cities across the country into 3 different brackets according to the number of full time employees. Scores will be derived from an algorithm that measures a company’s influence in the social realm including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. This is a great way to see how your business fares against your competition as well as companies in your same size range. With social media giants such as Facebook and Twitter evolving into business marketing vehicles, companies are now provided a new platform to creatively incorporate these mediums to their advantage. This competition is sure to demonstrate the most innovative e-marketing techniques across different industries and be very beneficial to its contestants by giving them a critique of their current efforts and helping them gain exposure throughout the tournament. The competition amongst local companies will begin June 1st and by July local winners will square off against those in other cities. One winner from each of the three brackets will be chosen in early September. Winners will receive $7,500 to donate to the charity of their choosing. All in all, this event is sure to be a fun and exciting way to build your online presence and draw attention to your Austin Office Space.
