A tragic traffic incident happened on this year’s South by Southwest festival. To avoid similar incidents in the future, the city officials of Austin released a list of recommendations to be taken by the city staff on the next SXSW.
The current curfew hours will be strictly implemented: 10 p.m. for weeknights and 12 midnight on weekends. However, if the venue is within 600 ft. of a residence, the curfew will be at 8 pm on weeknights and 10 pm on weekends.
The city officials also proposed that approved permits for unofficial large events will be regulated and fire code regulations will be imposed.
