Tax Free Weekend Texas 2013 is August 9th to 11th

Get ready retail shoppers!  The Tax Free Weekend for Texas in 2013 has been moved to Friday, August 9th to Sunday, August 11th.  It was originally planned for August 16th-18th, however in an effort to allow retailers to attend the Dallas Apparel and Accessories Market, where they determine which products they will sell in the next few months the Texas Legislature moved the tax free weekend to August 9th to 11th.

During the tax free weekend shoppers can purchase certain items tax FREE (state & local taxes)!  Most clothes, shoes, school supplies, and backpacks that cost under $100 will be eligible for tax free status.  More specialized items such as jewelry, sports cleats, hair products, etc will not be tax free.
