A very special donation for the development of Texas’ education was made early this month by HEB Grocery Co’s CEO Charles Butt. In the report of the San Antonio Express-News, Butt will be donating $100 million from his personal fortune to establish The Holdsworth Center in Austin. The center will serve as a training academy that would assist in teaching new school leaders and improve the quality of public education in Texas. The center will begin its first classes in June and they have invited sixteen school districts to take part. There is no official location yet set for the training academy; however, it has been agreed it will be held in various conference centers around Texas to accommodate trainees.
