Texas Now Has the Nations Fastest Speed Limit – 85 Miles Per Hour

Texas now has the nations fastest speed limit.  Thanks to the Texas Transportation Commission Cars are now allowed to travel 85 miles per hour along a 41 mile stretch of road between Austin and Sequin, Texas.  Obviously there is some opposition by those who think raising the speed limit could possibly increase the number of accidents and fatalities.  And with a speed limit of 85 miles per hour drivers may actually try to get away with 90 to 100 mile per hour speeds.
