Site Selection Magazine has ranked Texas as the top state for business relocations and expansion projects. In 2012, Texas had 761 business relocation and expansion projets, which was 270 more than the next ranked state.
Houston and Dallas accounted for the majority of business relocation projects, but Austin attracted many notable expansion and relocation projects in 2012, some of which included Apple and Visa.
In response to Texas receiving the top ranking, Gov. Rick Perry said in a news release that “This is further proof that Texas continues to be a beacon of opportunity for entrepreneurs and job creators looking for a skilled and competitive workforce and freedom from over taxation, over regulation and over litigation.”
