According to documents submitted to the state, Trader Joe’s is in the process of planning a third Austin location in the Arboretum area. The company is looking at the space formerly occupied by Saks Fifth Avenue at 9722 Great Hills Trail. The space is 52,000 square feet, which is roughly five times the size of an average Trader Joe’s store.
Outside of the proposed North Austin location, Trader Joe’s is starting to build its presence in Austin with 2 other confirmed locations. The Rollingwood Trader Joe’s is set to open sometime this fall, and another location in the downtown Seaholm development is planned to open in 2014.
