Localeur, an Austin-based travel site startup, highlights unique spots in Austin that many tourists and travelers don’t get to see. The company focuses on attractions that appeal to local residents, but are commonly overlooked by other travel sites. Localeur will provide recommendations on entertainment, dining and nightlife activities, as well as overviews of neighborhoods.
The startup was founded in 2012 by Chase White and Joah Spearman, two local Austin entrepreneurs who met while working at Bazaarvoice, an Austin software maker. The company currently employs 15 part-timers who have an in-depth knowledge of Austin, and also have a strong presence on social media websites.
