Amazon’s New Office in Austin Will Bring 200 Employees

AMAZONAlthough Amazon has not yet released its official statement to confirm the news that has been circulating around regarding their soon-to-open office in Austin, the city and its people are preparing for the e-commerce giant presence within the city.

According to the unofficial news, Amazon.com has been scouting for its potential office around Austin for almost one year. The online retailer brand may be opening its headquarters in a 76,000 sq. ft. office located at the Domain at 11501 Alterra Parkway. Amazon also plans to fill the huge office space with about 250 employees. Upon checking on the Amazon’s website, the company is currently looking for software developers and hardware engineers for Austin.

As of this moment, Amazon has not closed any lease contract yet but a reliable source tipped off that Amazon will eventually occupy the office space in Domain by June 2015.

Granting all of Amazon’s plans will happen, Mayor Lee Leffingwell is ecstatic and looking forward for another huge addition not only to Austin’s economy but also to the city’s booming office space industry as well as to its technology community. A few software technology companies like Metacloud, Websense, Box and Dropbox have already decided to establish their offices in Austin.
