Texas has claimed the top three spots on Forbes’ “Best Cities for Good Jobs” list. At No. 3, Austin is noted for its large number of high-tech jobs and growing employment in the government, education, and construction sectors.
With a 5-year expected annual job growth rate of 3.2%, and unemployment at 5.2%, Austin’s status as an attractive city for job seekers will continue to grow. Forbes reports that the U.S. unemployment rate is currently around 8%.
Dallas and Houston took the top two spots on the Forbes list, with Fort Worth coming in at No. 4, and San Antonio at No. 6.
